Kayla Douglas, Miss Rodeo Lakeside 2010

Hello, and Welcome to the 46th annual Lakeside rodeo. 
My name is Kayla Douglas, and I am proud to represent both the El
Capitan Stadium Association, and my hometown of Lakeside.  I am honored
to have been crowned Miss Rodeo Lakeside on March 6, 2010.  This was
no easy task, as we had 5 very smart and well-rounded ladies competing
for this crown, which was being passed down by Mackenzie Cayford
who represented this great town as your 2009 Miss Rodeo Lakeside.

I am 17 years old and a senior at El Capitan High School; I am looking
forward to graduating in June and starting college to pursue my degree as
a large animal veterinarian and specializing in horse chiropractic and
acupuncture. Some may think this is a strange specialty, however when
you see these horses compete in events such as barrel racing, bronc riding,
or roping events, you watch them bend, turn, stretch, and stop on a dime,
This can make them feel sore and out of tune, so as a good horse owner,
we like to make sure that they are in tip top shape, which is why we call
on our horse chiropractors to make sure that all there bones are in the right
place to prevent injury so they are ready for the next rodeo.

I look forward to traveling throughout California representing the amazing sport of professional rodeo and the El Capitan Stadium Association during this next year, as well as participating in many parades and community events all over
San Diego County.

I believe that any time you climb into a saddle, you should always be prepared for the ride, and this goes along with our daily lives as well.  Be prepared for what may come your way in life and be sure to handle it with dignity and pride.

I would like to thank the El Capitan Stadium Association for they’re many years of community service and the enormous amount of monetary donations and scholarships given to our youth each year.  Without this organization some of our youth may not be able to pursue their dreams. I am proud to be a part of this organization, and to be able to help make dreams come true during this coming year and in the future.

I hope that everyone enjoys the rodeo and has a swell time!

Rachelle Pyeatt, Jr. Miss Rodeo Lakeside 2010

Rachelle Pyeatt is 18 years old and a Freshman at Palomar Community College. She would like to obtain a Bachelors Degree in Business with a Minor in American Sign Language and obtain her Masters in Speech and Communications! Rachelle is a member of the National Barrel Horse Association (NBHA) and also enjoys Team Roping with her dad. Her hobbies include going to the desert, surfing, snowboarding, singing, and cooking. Rachelle believes it is very important to give back to the community. She has volunteered with the San Vicente Valley Women’s Club, the Kiwanis and the local senior center as well as holding several jobs at the Ramona Rodeo.
